A five-minute practice
Come as you are.
Read this short reflection here on the website. Begin with the passage, pause with the question, and take a few quiet minutes before moving on.
“And rising up he came to his father. And when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and running to him fell upon his neck, and kissed him.”Luke 15:20 · Douay-Rheims
A place to begin
The father sees him before the son has finished his journey home. The welcome comes before the explanation is complete. That does not erase what happened or make every consequence disappear. It gives the returning person a place to stand.
For today, you do not need to produce a perfect prayer. You can bring the sentence that is already true: “I am here.” Let that be enough for the next few minutes. Notice what changes when you stop waiting to become the right kind of person before you turn toward God.
