Which books are included?
A Catholic Bible has 46 Old Testament books and 27 New Testament books. The Old Testament includes Tobit, Judith, Wisdom, Sirach, Baruch, and 1 and 2 Maccabees. The USCCB explains the Catholic canon and how it differs from the book list in many Protestant editions.
Vigil uses the Douay-Rheims translation. Its traditional English includes words such as “thee” and “thou”; the passage below gives you a sense of its style before you download the app. It is not the NABRE or a modern-English paraphrase.
