The Bible itself is bundled in Vigil Bible, so you can open the Douay-Rheims text without relying on a connection.

What works without internet?

Once the app is installed, the Bible text, reference search, bookmarks, and saved reading position work on your device. You do not need to download each book separately. Installing the app, making a purchase, and asking the AI Companion a question require a connection.

How to use it

  1. Open the Bible tab and choose a book, or search by passage reference.
  2. Save a verse with the bookmark action when you want to find it again.
  3. Adjust reading size from the reading controls.
  4. Come back to Today to continue the chapter you last opened.

A note about the Companion

Offline Bible reading does not mean the AI Companion is offline. When you ask the Companion a question, a bounded portion of the conversation is sent through the app’s secure server proxy to Google Gemini. See the privacy policy before using that feature, and do not include sensitive personal information.
