Verbum ("we", "our", "the app") is a Catholic Bible and spiritual companion app. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Conversation Messages: When you use the Spiritual Companion feature, your current conversation is sent through our secure server proxy to Google Gemini to generate a response. Messages are not stored on our servers or linked to a Verbum account. Google's data retention and use policies apply to content processed through the Gemini API. Google states that content submitted through its free API tier may be used to improve its products. Do not include sensitive personal information in Companion messages.
Preferences: Settings such as font size, notification preferences, and bookmarks are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard storage. This data never leaves your device.
Subscription Status: Payment processing is handled by Apple through StoreKit. To confirm Premium access, the app sends an Apple-signed transaction to our server for verification. We do not store that transaction or collect payment-card information.
The Spiritual Companion feature uses Google's Gemini API to generate responses. Messages are sent through our secure server proxy to the Gemini API. See Gemini API Additional Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.
Verbum does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or collect personal information from any user.
All network communication uses HTTPS encryption, and API credentials remain on our server. No method of electronic transmission is completely secure, so please avoid including sensitive personal information in Companion messages.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
