Effective Date: March 25, 2026
Verbum ("we", "our", "the app") is a Catholic Bible and spiritual companion app. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Conversation Messages: When you use the Spiritual Companion feature, your messages are sent to our server to generate responses. Messages are not stored on our servers and are not linked to your identity. Conversations exist only in your device's local memory and are cleared when you start a new conversation.
Preferences: Settings such as font size, notification preferences, and bookmarks are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard storage. This data never leaves your device.
Subscription Status: Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not collect or store any payment information.
The Spiritual Companion feature uses Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. Messages are sent to our secure server proxy, which forwards them to the API. Anthropic's privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy. No personally identifiable information is included in these requests.
Verbum does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app does not require account creation or collect personal information from any user.
All network communication uses HTTPS encryption. Since we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is minimal data security risk.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
